The Women’s Empowerment Center & Network (W.E.C.a.N) is a community- driven initiative created to empower women, strengthen families, and expand opportunities throughout Park Forest and the surrounding region.
Rooted in service, faith, and community engagement. W.E.C.a.N was established to address the growing need for safe housing, economic empowerment, education resources, wellness support, and long-term community development.
Through strategic partnerships, innovative programming, and a commitment to sustainable impact, W.E.C.a.N seeks to create pathways toward stability, independence, and success for individuals and families at every stage of life.
Our vision extends beyond programs and services. We believe in creating environments where people feel supported, valued, and equipped to reach their full potential.
To empower women, youth, and families through housing, education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, wellness initiatives , and community-centered support services that promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Through the redevelopment of the historic St. Irenaeus Campus, W.E.C.a.N is transforming under utilized space into a vibrant center for empowerment, learning, economic growth, and community engagement.

Entrepreneur, community advocate, and leader dedicated to empowering women and strengthening families through education, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.
Lamekia brings a proven track record of community engagement and business leadership, including recognition through the Chicago Defender Woman of Excellence Award, Nasdaq Entrepreneur Program, Goldman Sacs 10,000 Small Businesses, and numerous community leadership initiatives. Her work continues to create pathways for women and families to achieve long-term stability and success.
